As we enter the end of March, we wanted to update you on what's been happening at our elderly residential homes, Heathside and The Mews. It's been a month filled with smiles, celebrations, and some valuable life lessons from our wise residents.
A Visit From Henry
At the start of the month, we had a special visitor at The Mews. Henry the dog brought instant joy to everyone, and we loved seeing the residents' faces light up with his arrival. It's incredible how animals have the power to lift our spirits and brighten our days.
A Delicious and Nutritious Week
At Heathside, we celebrated Nutrition and Hydration week with a range of fun activities. From taste testing to a global tea party, it was amazing to see everyone learn about the importance of nutrition and hydration while having an absolute blast. Who knew that mocktails could be so much fun? Check out the full blog post here.
St Paddy's Day
St Patrick's Day was a smashing success at The Mews. The residents enjoyed a range of Irish drinks and music, with a mix of everyone's favourite jigs and reels. It's always great to come together and celebrate, especially with a pint of the black stuff in hand.
Mothering Sunday
Mother's Day was a special occasion at both Heathside and The Mews. It was heartwarming to see the incredible women receiving their well-deserved love and appreciation.
Wise Words from Heathside
Our residents at Heathside also shared their best life advice with us, and it was inspiring to read their messages on the whiteboards. It's a great reminder to always listen to our elders and learn from their wisdom.
Miles of Smiles
Lastly, Miles of Smiles day at The Mews was a blast! We learned valuable lessons about oral health while having fun with activities and a musical quiz. Who knew there were so many tooth-related songs out there? Our smiles on sticks were hilarious to photograph and reminded us of the importance of taking care of these beautiful smiles.
As we reflect on the month that's been, we're reminded of the power of connection, celebration, and learning. It's these moments that make life so special, and we're grateful to be able to share them with our wonderful residents. Until next time, keep smiling!
